I have been a runner for about 12 years.
My running career was prompted in my mid 20’s when I found myself with extra pounds and piled up stress and needed some outlet for both. Through the years I have taken on running challenges that range from a marathon, half marathons, triathlons to fun runs. I have made every mistake imaginable related to running, sometimes twice. Some day I would like to try another marathon and venture into the world of ironman distance triathlons.
I juggle a job, two kids, my husband’s crazy work schedule, and great dog. I never seem to have enough time to fit it all in but never stop looking for the day when I will. Regardless of its priority on my schedule, running is important to me. It makes me a little stronger, smarter, saner, and allows me to indulge in chocolate chip cookies more freely.
Runners' Lounge, the online community of runners, was born because connecting runners is as important to me as running. Join us today at www.runnerslounge.com!
I’m an ordinary runner with an oversize passion for running. My favorite roles are husband and dad, closely followed by runner. I’ve run regularly for decades, only racing a couple times a year, including an annual marathon. A native of Iowa, I run quietly, privately, mostly in darkness, year round in all weather conditions and at an hour of the day most people would consider brutally early.
So what’s in it for me? Running challenges me, keeps me fit, sharpens my mind and senses, and keeps me grounded in my priorities. It comes relatively easy for me, and I am grateful for the gift of running and for such a personally satisfying activity.
More than the activity of running, I enjoy meeting ordinary runners of all capabilities and experience and get lost in conversation with them. Runners fascinate me because of their wealth of knowledge—proven advice, training methods, coaching, mistakes, and real-world running experiences. Ordinary runners’ wisdom is priceless because they are like me—facing the demands of everyday living and trying to enrich life with running.
My goal for Runners' Lounge, the online community of runners, is to meet more great people who run and to exchange ideas and support for ordinary runners.
We are two ordinary runners sharing our favorite passion – Running.
The lounge is our escape for conversation and connection to our favorite people – Runners.
