[Update 3/19/09: We apologize for any offense from this podcast. The Be Funny series is a lighthearted discussion of running topics but in this episode the participants took their humor to a level that offended many listeners. This podcast has been temporarily removed to be edited. Sincere apologies from us from Runners' Lounge as it is never our belief that any runner should be ridiculed, offended or in anyway discussed that isn't supportive of their running. -Amy and Tom]

I am pretty sure that insulting your readers/listeners is not the best way to get more people to reply.
I also know that the two ladies think they are so witty but if I hear Amy say "Who the hellll carrres?" with every damn sentence going up in inflection at the end one more damn time I will assuredly jab a pen in my ear.

It is unfortunate that this "Dane" is getting any media attention when "Dane Rauschenberg" the guy who ran 52 Marathons in 52 weekends should be covered constantly (and should be featured on one of these Lounge Casts).
As for "Who the hell cares?" that must be one of the most ridiculous statements ever made. It has nothing to do with an inferiority complex of marathoners as it does with people actually achieving what they said they did. No one has said that running 23 miles is not a big accomplishment, especially for "a huge enormous fatass" as Amy so delicately puts it (and as Mike actually explains it.) But it is her blase attitude about awarding people for sorta-kinda doing things that is half the problem with this country today. The everyone-wins,here- is-your-trophy-for-showing-up, soccer-ties-are -awesome! mentality keeps people from achieving. I haven't spent the time necessary to find something Amy finds important but I am sure if there is something she does find important and someone cheated their way to achieving it she would be one of the who the hell who cares.
As for beating the dead horse, it is obviously needed when there are people who think that cheating, lying and then stealing (the medal he did not earn but will not give back) are just a-ok.

Dear Samantha and Katie,
From my heart to yours, I'm sorry. While I'm normally a perfectly pleasant person, currently I am not. I am pregnant, and therefore I am angry. Plus, this podcast was recorded way past my bedtime. And for this knocked-up ho, tiredness translantes into nastiness. Really now, just ask my husband. If you think I've offended listeners, then you have no idea what I've don't to that sweet man's self esteem over the course of the last three months.

Amy and J-Money,
I guess I was not in the best frame of mind. My apologies indeed.

I think we all need a group hug and some hot fudge Sundaes.

Are you pregnant, Amy? Congratulations! I didn't see that on your blog!
Hope the podcast will be back up again soon, I was really looking forward to it!
