Conquering the Marathon in 26 words
We love concise nuggets of running expertise and the storehouse of wisdom they become.
The challenge for this week's Take It And Run Thursday is stuffing great marathon advice is 26 words or less.
My 26 words come largely from reversing the mistakes I've made.
Treat the marathon as your best long run ever.
Run patient and relaxed in every step.
Feed off runners; don’t compete against them.
Banish negative thoughts!
We're excited about learning everyone's champion and conquering wisdom at tomorrow's Take It and Run Thursday.

I like this. My best two long runs this training season, have been when I went out nice and easy and about half way through I was able to pick up the pace without even trying. I ended up on both of these runs, running a minute faster per mile for the 2nd half and felt great doing it. This is my goal for Chicago: to hold back and treat it just like I did these long runs.

I like how you worded this. I'm glad that some schools have the Cross Country programs. It is important for our kids to learn these lessons. I'm wondering about trying to get something started at my daughter's school. I'm reluctant because I never had any cross country experience of my own.
