Take It and Run Thursday: Gimme Food!
It's our way to bring together the knowledge of all of us ordinary runners. It's the virtual equivalent to putting our virtual heads together. Even though many of us aren't elite athletes, coaches or authors, it doesn't mean that we haven't earned a well deserved PhD in running. Whether you are starting out, have 50 years of running under your belt or somewhere in between - all of us have lessons learned that make us wiser and better runners.
Today's theme is .... Gimme Food! It's summer and many runners are increasing mileage which can also increase appetite. What are your favorite recipes for your pre run fuel or post run recovery or just everyday meals? It would be great to have a few new ideas on our family menu board of what to plan for and serve that not only agrees with my running but dishes that taste great. If you aren't much of a cook, no worries - just contribute your favorite food(s) or nutrition tips.
Next weeks theme is - Overcoming the Tough Stuff. However you define "tough", we all have parts of it in our running. For some it is hills, humidity, heat, hell wind. For others it is the middle of a long run or even others speedwork. Tell the Lounge about the "tough" stuff in your running and how you overcome it.
