Join Us For A Virtual Holiday Party & White Elephant Gift Exchange

You are cordially invited to the Runners' Lounge Virtual Holiday party.  We have supported each other all year through training, races, injuries and weather - we are one big bundle of neighbors and friends.   So it only seems right that we gather at the holidays to share some good cheer. 

Since it is virtual, there is no scheduling shuffling, driving in bad weather or even the required new holiday outfit.   Come as you are, drop by a holiday greeting, pick up some good cheer.  There will be virtual holiday food and drinks!  Feel free to overindulge - all of it has zero calories!  The party starts now and goes until the end of the year.

It's easy - here's what you do to join in the festivities:

• Drop by the Holiday Party Lounge Group on Runners' Lounge (www.runnerslounge.com), and join the Forum "Holiday Greetings and Cheer".   
• Drop off a note to your RBF's (Running Blogging Friends) in the Forum.  If you have already pasted holiday greetings in your blog, make sure to include a link to your holiday posts as well.
• Throughout the days of December, stop by, chat with the RBF's, exchange well wishes.

It's easy, it has no pressure and should leave you with a happy holiday greeting. 

Now, I know what you are thinking....what about gifts - do we need to bring presents?  Ok, maybe you weren't, but here's an idea!   

Remember unwrapping that Chia Pet?  What do you do with that gift card from Leroy's Bait Shop?  For all of us who receive those gifts that leave us speechless, let's do a virtual white elephant exhange!

Here is how it works:Take a picture of that horrible present from years past that you just can't part with.  Or grab a photo of something online that you can't believe people buy and give to others.  It's virtual - so there is no spending limit.  In fact, the only limit is your imagination. 

• Post about your white elephant gift on your blog on in your "My Stories" on your Runners' Lounge profile.   Include a description and a picture and if it is especially weird, tell us why you own it or how you found it.
• By December 18th, drop by the Holiday Party Lounge Group on Runners' Lounge and join the "White Elephant Gift Exchange" Forum.
• Write a note in the forum about your gift and include a link to your blog post or story.
• On December 20th, Amy and I will number the gifts as well as pull out a number of a hat for each of you participating. 
• On December 21st, we will post the results of who received each of the gifts.

It should be a blast.  We have seen the workings of your very creative minds as well as your ability to find crazy things online - so we can't wait to see your gift offerings.

We know the holidays can be nutty - so we hope this adds a little fun and cheer to this busy time of the year.
